My cup holders in the uplander are gigantic. I think they were made for the cup you have. Anything else flies out when you go around a turn.

My tiny Ford is column shift, and since I’m designing the floorboards, I can put whatever cupholders in I want. #ComeAtMeBro

These are what the cup holders look like in my 135is. They are not particularly good. The second one is usually covered by the arm rest. You have to flip the arm rest up to use both cup holders.
If you have a 1-series with iDrive, the iDrive knob goes where the cup holder that’s accessible while using the armrest would be, so BMW gives you this cup holder that sprouts up from in front of the shifter.
This picture is someone who added the iDrive cup holder to a non-iDrive car for a grand total of 2 cup holders accessible while also using the arm rest.
I’m debating whether this is better or worse than the ridiculous cup holders BMW put in the E90 3-series.
BMW most definitely is not the Ultimate Cup Holder Machine.

I had an E90, can confirm that the cupholders were utterly useless. Good for a 12oz can and nothing more.

All of those are infinitely better than my E34, which has a grand total of zero cupholders. Same with our W123 and my 924.

At least you drive American and have cupholders at all. None of my ‘superior’, German-engineered vehicles have freaking cupholders. It’s always strange asking for a drink carrier for one drink.

I drive a 90 miata, no cup holder, and a 02 MINI Cooper S, really stupid, uselessly placed cupholders. So you can shush.

The cupholders in my auto Ranger are no better, especially because they usually are full of change, toolbox keys, phone, and other etcetera.
It’s usually between the legs for me. Unless it’s a bottle, then it gets shoved between the center seat and floor.

Yeah, In England you are not allowed to drink a soda or take a sip of water while behind the wheel or you will get a ticket and a fine.

It’s considered “distracted driving” in Canada now. The police don’t give a shit though. They don’t bother enforcing it.
